It's Nice to Meet You! :-)

Hi! My name is Walter Hyde. I am a clarinetist in Ventura, Iowa.
I have been working quite a bit refurbishing clarinet logos and have found a process that gets consistently very good results. The neat thing about this process is that a worn, dull, old logo which otherwise would be of little interest can be brought back to life, renewing and revitalizing the overall presence of the instrument!
I find this work deeply gratifying and am eager to share it with you!

A 'Matched' Set!
Refurbishing the logos of mixed brands creates a unique sense of a 'matched' set! You can even pick special custom colors to make your clarinets look one-of-a-kind!

Left: The barrel with this Noblet Eb clarinet is not the original, yet the 'matched' set in beige looks complete!
Left: A Leblanc LL Eb clarinet in Royal Blue.
Middle: Leblanc LL Eb clarinet body with Buffet R13 Eb clarinet barrel 'matched' set in beige.
Right: Leblanc LL Eb clarinet in Scarlet.

Clarinet Logo ReFAB:
Before and After!

Left: This Selmer Eb clarinet from 1924 has the old Selmer logo at the top and bottom of the body and on the bell. The barrel is not the original one and features the modern Selmer logo. Despite the age of these original old logos, they turned out fantastic! The next step is to apply a wood polish finish that will crisp up the sharpness of the logos and make the grenadilla wood shine beautifully. It also provides an invaluable protective barrier for the wood it as it enters its second century of life! More pictures to come!
Right: This Selmer Eb clarinet from 1973 brightened up just beautifully. The logos in off-white just really POP! As with the Eb above, once I have applied the wood polish finish the logos will look even crisper and the wood will beam radiantly. And restoring the protective wax barrier will follow the instrument through to many more years of music making!

Left: This Leblanc LL Eb clarinet was renewed with a sassy scarlet! The rose-gold plated key posts and silver plated keys as a completely reborn character to this Eb clarinet! You can see in these pictures how stunning the wood polish finish can be!
